Google Business Profile Post Scheduling

Plan a full month of GBP posts on a visual calendar. MapPush auto-publishes at the scheduled time via the official Google API — no manual login required.

Consistency is the hardest part of Google Business Profile marketing. A visual campaign calendar changes that — you can see an entire month at a glance, drag posts to reschedule them, and let MapPush handle publish day automatically.

The visual campaign calendar

Every MapPush account gets a per-location campaign calendar. After your AI-generated posts land in your draft queue, you schedule them by clicking any open date on the calendar. The post card snaps to that slot and shows a preview of the caption and graphic.

The calendar view lets you:

  • See all upcoming posts in a monthly grid
  • Spot gaps where weeks have no posts scheduled
  • Drag and drop to move a post to a different day
  • Switch between monthly and weekly views depending on how far ahead you're planning

How scheduling works

When you assign a post to a date, MapPush stores the publish job and queues it for execution via the official Google Business Profile API. At the scheduled time, MapPush calls the API on your behalf using the OAuth token you granted during onboarding.

No third-party browser extensions. No screen automation. No logging in and clicking buttons manually. The publish happens server-side the same way Google's own scheduler works.

Time zones

MapPush schedules posts in the local time zone of your business location. If you manage multiple locations across time zones, each location calendar uses its own local time — a post scheduled for 9 AM in your Miami location publishes at 9 AM Eastern, while a post scheduled for the same slot in your Denver location publishes at 9 AM Mountain.

What happens on publish day

  1. MapPush's publish queue picks up all posts scheduled for that date window.
  2. The API call is made to Google with the final caption, CTA, and graphic.
  3. Google processes and makes the post live on your Maps listing (typically within minutes).
  4. The post card in your calendar turns green with a “Published” status.
  5. If the API returns an error, the card turns red and you get a notification with the reason.

How to reschedule a post

Plans change — an offer ends early, or you want to move a post to align with a holiday. You can reschedule any future post before its publish window by dragging it to a new date on the calendar, or by clicking the post and editing the scheduled date directly. Posts that are already live on Google cannot be moved — they'd need to be deleted and reposted.

Recurring schedules

MapPush supports campaign templates that repeat on a weekly or monthly cadence. Set up your posting frequency once — for example, every Tuesday and Friday — and MapPush will reserve those slots on the calendar for the current month. You fill in the content, and the schedule stays consistent.

This is especially useful for businesses running the same type of promotion each month (e.g., a monthly special or a weekly featured service).

Multi-location scheduling

If you manage more than one Google Business Profile, each location gets its own calendar and campaign. Content stays isolated — a post scheduled for your downtown location won't accidentally appear on your suburban location. See multi-location management for details on per-location campaigns.
